SCHOONER DOLPHIN FOUNDATION

MISSION STATEMENT

Schooner Dolphin Foundation is a 501(c)3 not for profit foundation organized to provide the following humanitarian and educational services and programs on Schooner Dolphin. Donations and contributions to the Schooner Dolphin Foundation are fully tax deductible.

1. As a member of ASTA, the American Sail Training Association, the foundation will provide educational training programs for teenage and young adult students in sailing, seamanship, navigation, ocean sciences, ecology and the environment as working crew on the Schooner Dolphin. Programs and classes will initially be on Long Island Sound, then along the Eastern Seaboard and ultimately in international coastal and blue water locations.

2. To provide humanitarian missions around the world by delivering free health care and medical services to people living in small coastal villages lacking modern medical care and facilities in third world countries. Services will be provided in Central and South America, the South Pacific, Asia and Africa as Dolphin works her way along the coasts of these areas in between other scheduled charters and cruises.

3. To provide inspirational and empowering day sail experiences for economically, physically, medically, mentally of otherwise challenged individuals in partnership with other charitable and humanitarian foundations and organizations.
